“The Room” is an art installation project that comes from the partnership between the artist, Simone Lingua, and the cultural institution, Fondazione Donà dalle Rose.

The work, born within the artist’s residency at Palazzo Imperatore, moves from the application of new conceptual codes to the fulcrum of Lingua’s research, the mirror.

A powerful immersive dimension takes shape from new experiments: the environment – entirely redefined through reflective and deforming surfaces, optical graphics and luminous works – welcomes the viewer into a parallel space, which surprises and destabilizes.

The use of the color black, which occupies the spaces like a volume, and the “Kinetic Domes” in glass, works created in collaboration with Luce 5, contribute to the creation of this dreamlike reality. To close this design, in a highly inclusive key , are the sound interventions, with the music of Yaya Visconti, and performances, curated by Sara Viola.

A mix that stages art as an all-encompassing experience, imposing a reflection on space no longer understood by the artist as a physical, measurable and inhabitable place, but rather as an interior place.
