SIMONE LINGUA TRA I GUEST ARTISTS DELL’EVENTO COLLATERALE DELLA 61ª BIENNALE DI VENEZIA: “FISSURES OF LIGHT. DIASPORA: DISSONANCES IN FA MINOR”

Simone Lingua brings his kinetic language to the international stage of the Venice Biennale. The artist has been selected as a Guest Artist for “The Fissures of Light. Diaspora: Dissonances in Fa Minor,” the official collateral event of the 61st International Art Exhibition, La Biennale di Venezia, running from May 9 to November 22, 2026 at Palazzo Donà dalle Rose, in the historic Cannaregio district, organized by Tissali Arts & Culture in collaboration with the Fondazione Donà dalle Rose.

The exhibition offers an immersive, meditative journey in which architecture, natural light, and artworks come together to create a space of contemplation and care.

Curatorship is entrusted to Mama Anneand Chiara Modica Donà dalle Rose, aka Rosa Mundi, who for the section “La Diaspora: Dissonanze in fa minore”brought together an international group of artists — including Simone Lingua, alongside Aliou Diack, George Nuku, Gregory de la Haba, Laura Mega, Ibou Ndoye, Genny Petrotta, Joaquim Restrepo, Silvia Scaringella, Oumar Sylla, Leone Solia, and Nalla Thioye.

Each selected artist is emblematic of a particular diaspora affecting the world today — one that, paradoxically, lends their artistic production an even more singular and unique dimension. Dissonances in Fa Minor is the synthesis of these existences: shaped to feel different, they come together in a single melody, becoming an essential harmonic component.

If diaspora is by definition a displacement, Simone Lingua‘s kinetics offers a tangible plastic translation of it through the work Kinetic Cube. The body of the work and the geometric form illusorily generated by the viewer’s interaction embody the concept of movement, giving the spectator the physical experience of an identity in transit.

Founded in 1895, La Biennale di Venezia is today the leading international event for contemporary art, offering a platform of visibility and dialogue for artists and curators from around the world. For this 61st edition, the focus is on transcontinental dialogue, memory, transmission, and the plurality of artistic narratives.
