Klinve _ Kinetic jewels _ concept by Simone Lingua, Made by Semar srl _ 2019

Klinve was born from the meeting of Simone Lingua, artist and designer, exponent of emerging contemporary art, and Gabriele Veneri, owner of SEM -AR, a leading company in the processing of precious metals. In 2018, after years of knowledge in their respective professional fields, they find themselves brainstorming, combining interests, passions and intuitions, and from which a new project is born, to which they decide to work together and combine their mutual expertise. Klinve is born. A contemporary jewelry brand in which the technology of the SEM -AR brand finds its expression, combined with the artistic creativity of Simone Lingua. White gold and quartz, materials selected and treated according to the expertise of the Tuscan goldsmith company, give a visible and tangible form to the artist’s idea. The concept underlying the designer’s work finds its reference in the research and experimentation inherent in kinetic art, the identifying field of a process that moves from architecture to sculpture and painting to installation, and thus today to jewelry. In this sense, Lingua is in a tradition inherent to programmed art, which in the past has often extended the multidisciplinary imprint to creation in the field of jewelry. Klinve embodies the translation of a work inspired by an objet trouvĂ©, a hemisphere of chromed Plexiglas that is the subject of study and observation in relation to other elements that are placed in dialog with it. The result is the kiss between two opposing components: a mirrored concavity and a flat, transparent disk marked by graphic motifs. A dome that protrudes into the context it inhabits, engaging the viewer in an inverted dimension – showing what the human eye takes in before cerebral processing of the image – and deceiving about the existence, morphology and dynamics of dots, lines and planes. To achieve an optical effect, the abstract design mimics an overhanging volume, invading the viewer’s space and drawing an illusory sphere that is in fact unreal. The pendant, imitating this principle, becomes a point of convergence and attraction of the gaze, to the point of enchantment of a means capable of mediating the transition to an obfuscation of the senses and the intellect, to a parallel realm. A product of strong esthetic force and high conceptual density, an expression of the relationship between art and business, a combination based on creativity and synonymous with contemporaneity, ultimately a viaticum for the future.
