CONNECTIONS

On June 25, CONNESSIONI by Simone Lingua opens at Palazzo Drago Airoldi in Palermo.

In balance between refraction and alteration of reality, the concept developed by the artist connects art, nature and architecture, through a path that has the mirror tool as its common thread.
At the center of Lingua’s research for years, the mirror is understood here as a place of connection: a trait d’union which, in the form of site-specific installations, brings the rooms of the building into dialogue with historical works and unpublished works.

In line with the intervention at La Lanterna by Fuksas (Rome, 2022), a relationship of osmosis is established with the context: the space plays a proactive role in the elaboration of the mechanisms of vision and perception that identify the planning of the creative.
The viewer, as deus ex machina, is responsible for activating the process from which the work takes shape: now as a moving image; now as a refraction of reality; now as a deformation of the same; now as a dimension of connection between work and spectator.

The exhibition has been created thanks to the contribution and support of local companies and workers, in connection with companies closely linked to the artist’s work.
Last but not least, CONNESSIONI is part of a more structured project which involves the city and the local area with an unpublished design by Contemporary Illusions.
